Generator Exhaust
Single chamber lift silencer and separator with overboard discharge above the waterline
Noise from generators is particularly intrusive as they run well into the evening, and in some cases all night. Halyard offers a sophisticated, silent and almost odour free exhaust solution (see Generators - Combined silencer and separator with dry discharge up the stack), and a more basic solution which gives an extremely quiet result for minimal outlay as shown in the schematic diagram above. This system uses a simple lift silencer immediately after the generator, with the exhaust then running to a water separator which removes the water and drains this below waterline. This leaves dry, cool, gas to exit the hull above water line, while avoiding the constant "sploshing" of water associated with normal generator installations.
