Halyard wins Spirit of Innovation Award at Seawork
Halyard Marine Ltd, a leader in the design and manufacture of marine exhaust silencing and engine noise reduction solutions has entered its patented Resonator Silencer into the Seawork 2007 Innovations Showcase taking place on 12-14 June.
The Innovations showcase is a Seawork initiative designed to publicly reward the very best in innovation. In addition, it provides visitors at the show with the opportunity to view the best new products introduced into the marine industry during the past 12 months.
First launched at the end of 2006, Halyard’s Resonator Silencer is a world leading technical breakthrough in the reduction of exhaust noise by filtering out specific problem noise frequencies from a band centred around the engine’s firing frequency. Whether a straight 6 cylinder engine or a V16, the Resonator Silencer significantly reduces the overall engine noise emitted.
Halyard wins Spirit of Innovation Award at Seawork
Halyard Marine Ltd, a leader in the design and manufacture of marine exhaust silencing and engine noise reduction solutions has won the Spirit of Innovation Award at this year's Seawork exhibition.
Halyard received the award in recognition of its patented Resonator Silencer which was first launched in January 2007. The Resonator Silencer is a world leading technical breakthrough in the reduction of exhaust noise by filtering out specific problem noise frequencies from a band centred around the engine's firing frequency. Whether a straight 6 cylinder engine or a V16, the Resonator Silencer significantly reduces the overall engine noise emitted.
"We're absolutely delighted!" says Halyard's Managing Director, James Grazebrook, "The Spirit of Innovation Award celebrates a real breakthrough in silencing water-injected marine exhaust systems with the ability to tune the system to attack one or more particular frequencies. This breakthrough is equally important to commercial vessels as operators currently endure hours at noise levels which can be close to the maximum allowed in industry. Halyard shares the award with Southampton University, who we have collaborated with over a number of years in order to combine the University's extensive acoustic skills with Halyard's knowledge of marine exhausts. The award will be a huge help in establishing the product in the commercial sector."
James Grazebrook was presented with the award at Seawork's annual Gala Dinner by Iain Shepard, Chairman of Marine South East and Jane Wilson, Exhibition Manager at Seawork. In addition to winning the Spirit of Innovation award, Halyard also collected the award for the Best Equipment category.
