Silencer Separators
The Silencer Separator was developed by Halyard ten years ago for large generators in superyachts.  The technology combines Halyard’s silencing technology with water separation to silence the exhaust gas and then remove the cooling water which otherwise creates so much noise at the outlet.  The system was immediately adopted by a number of Dutch superyacht yards and has proven a firm favourite ever since, allowing the dry exhaust gas to be piped through a further separator and then to exit at the top of the funnel in complete silence, and above the height at which exhaust fumes will normally be detected on deck.  The photo shows a unit undergoing test, with transparent panels built in to allow Halyard engineers to study gas and water flow.
